Hi and thanks for visiting Long Island Gold Works. Allow me to take a moment to introduce LIGW and myself to you.

I’m a native Long Islander, and my name is Vinny Marino. I grew up in Smithtown and attended Smithtown H.S. East – graduated class of 1981.

Being the only son of a manufacturing Jeweler, there was no escaping, (or at least learning), the family business. As I was busy doing my own thing, working various jobs and attending college, my father’s business was about to undergo a major change, leave the NYC 47th Street manufacturing business, and move to Rocky Point, Long Island to open a wholesale/retail operation. It was a risk, but Dad was tired of the NYC commute and looked forward to a change. But he needed help, and a commitment from me. Well that was 20 years ago and Villa D’oro Jewelers is still going strong. Did I stay the 20 years? No – I left to pursue my own interests. I joined the US Coast Guard and worked as the Dock master in a prestigious LI Yacht Club for a few years, never completely giving up the jewelry craft.
I was inspired to design a line of unique nautical jewelry, the Long Island collection. I’ve created this line with pride and passion. I have a great love for Long Island and all it has to offer. You can be sure that every item in the Long Island collection has been handcrafted by me, with the quality, integrity and craftsmanship that has made my family’s Villa D’oro Jewelers famous.
